Yuffie Kisaragi

Yuffie Kisaragi is, without a doubt, a spoiled brat. Her father is Lord Godo, a depressed former hero who can't come to terms with the fact that because Wutai, the Kisaragis' hometown, lost a war with Shinra, it has been reduced to nothing more than a tourist attraction. Yuffie believes that if she can collect enough materia for Wutai, the town will become prosperous and important once again.
Yuffie, from a family of ninjas, sets off into the world and becomes a materia thief. It is not long before she comes across a materia-laden ex-SOLDIER named Cloud, and decides she'll tag along for a while, if only to add his materia to her stash...
